1. Who we are
BossKazi is operated from Pemba, Zanzibar, Tanzania. In this policy “we”, “us” and “our” mean the operator of BossKazi. You can reach us at bosskazisupport@guestlist.net.
2. What we collect
- Account details: your name, WhatsApp or phone number, email address (if you give one), a password (stored only as a one-way hash), and whether you joined as a fundi or a property manager.
- Property and tenancy details entered by a property manager: properties, rooms, tenants and their contact details, rent, agreements, meter readings, deposits, costs and documents.
- Maintenance and quote details: jobs, descriptions, photos and videos, materials, quotes, prices, expected finish dates, progress taps (on the way, started, finished), payment records and messages exchanged about a job.
- Public website details a fundi chooses to publish: their name, trade, title, tagline, “about” text, Instagram handle and photos of their work.
- Quote requests from the public: the name, phone number, email, location, description and photos someone sends through a fundi’s public link.
- Usage and delivery records: when a quote link or portal was opened, whether an email was delivered or bounced, when a text or WhatsApp message was prepared, sign-in times, and basic technical logs (IP address, browser, device) kept by our hosting providers.
3. Why we use it
- To run the service: create your account, show your workspace or dashboard, send jobs and quotes between property managers and fundis, and record payments.
- To tell people what is happening: emails, text messages (where switched on) and ready-made WhatsApp messages about jobs, quotes, acceptances, payment requests and reminders.
- To show a fundi’s public website and pass quote requests to them.
- To keep the service safe: preventing abuse, spam and unauthorised access.
- To improve the service, using aggregated, non-identifying information.
We do not sell your information and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
4. Who sees it
- The people you work with. A property manager sees the jobs, quotes, contact details and progress of the fundis on their list. A fundi sees the jobs, rooms and contact details of the property managers who send them work. A tenant sees their own tenancy, charges and the jobs they reported. Anyone who receives a quote link sees that quote.
- The public sees whatever a fundi chooses to put on their public website page (name, trade, title, tagline, about text, Instagram and work photos). A fundi can remove any of it at any time from their dashboard.
- Service providers who host and deliver the service on our behalf: database and file storage, email delivery, SMS delivery (when switched on), and web hosting. They may process your information only to provide their service to us.
- Authorities, if the law requires it or to protect the rights, property or safety of BossKazi, our users or others.
WhatsApp messages are sent from your own phone through WhatsApp. We prepare the text; we do not send or read your WhatsApp messages.
5. Photos and files
Photos and videos you upload are stored privately and shown through time-limited links to the people entitled to see them. Photos a fundi puts on their public website are, by choice, visible to anyone with the link. Please do not upload photos of people who have not agreed to it.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and for as long as it is needed to keep records of jobs, quotes and payments. You can ask us to delete your account and its data at any time by writing to bosskazisupport@guestlist.net. Some records may be kept where the law requires it or where they form part of another user’s records (for example a property manager’s record of a job you did).
7. Security
We use reputable providers, encrypted connections, private storage and hashed passwords. Private dashboard links and quote links act as keys: anyone who has one can act as you, so keep them to yourself and ask for a new one if a link gets out. No online service is completely secure and we cannot promise that information will never be lost, intercepted or accessed without permission. 8. Your choices and rights
- You can see and change most of your information from your workspace or dashboard.
- A fundi can change or remove anything on their public website at any time.
- You can ask us to correct, export or delete your information, or to stop sending you messages, by emailing bosskazisupport@guestlist.net. We will answer within a reasonable time.
- Text messages and emails are only sent about your own jobs and quotes; reminders stop when a job is finished or you ask us to stop.
9. Cookies and local storage
We use a sign-in cookie to keep you signed in and small local settings on your device (for example which tab you were on last and the phone number you signed in with). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Some pages may load fonts from Google Fonts.
10. Children
BossKazi is for adults running properties or working as fundis. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
11. Changes
We may update this policy as the service grows. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change is significant we will say so on the site.
